ABOUT GEOCACHING - WHAT IS GEOCACHING?

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor treasure hunting game using GPS-enabled devices. The basic idea of geocaching is to go out in nature, alone, with family or friends and have fun on the way to specific locations. Treasure you are looking for is not some trunk with gold coins and precious stones, but hidden box, called "cache". Anyone with a GPS device can try to find the cache.

Geocaching is becoming increasingly popular activity with more than 5 million worldwide geocachers, that really start to attract attention. Geocaching has become a hobby of nature lovers, but also becomes a new way to fill an upcoming vacation. The goal of this activity is to go for a walk or a bike ride, and find hidden treasure - the cache.

Geocaching involves two separate parties that consist of individuals or groups. One side hides the cache anywhere in the world and marks the coordinates of longitude and latitude using GPS devices. Coordination and similar information related to the hiding place of boxes are published on the website. To find the hidden boxes seekers use their GPS devices combined with maps and clues.

When you finally discover the hidden box, you can take a few items and leave some other item for future seekers. After finding the cache, you need to sign in the logbook. Finally, return the box with cache exactly on the same place where you found it, for others who will visit it after you.
